AMY ~ THE WONDERDOG !!!

by Denise
(Suffolk)

Our beautiful Amy is now "17 years young".

(The photo was taken in August 2011, she came second in a Best Veteran competition).

We have had her since she was 3 months old.

She is a cross breed. (We have never really known what she is crossed with).

She is my total inspiration, as she has had so much happen to her in her little life but still battles on regardless. When I get aches and pains, I just look at her and think my ailments are tiny compared to what she has had to cope with.

She was rescued from young boy who could not look after her as he lived in a block of flats.
She was a dear little black and tan puppy.

When she was just 2 years old, she lost all the use in her back legs after the disc in her back gave way.
It was a massive drama for all concerned.
Amy had to have a major spine operation and for months she was confined to her bed. We helped her to walk again and slowly but surely, she gained strength in her back and legs.

Now at 17, she still manages to "run" around and is the most wonderful little girl. We feel so blessed to have had Amy as she has given us pleasure beyond words.
I sometimes look at her and get sad but then I stop and think how lucky we have all been to have found each other.

AMY is our beautiful inspiration.
We love her so very much.

Dogs understand so much when they are loved and to look into your dogs eyes is all the thanks you need.

Thank you. Denise

She is beautiful! Still smiling at 17 - you should take a bow for taking such wonderful care of her. What a great story - that's one thing I love about dogs - they don't feel sorry for themselves!
