Our dog Lola

This is Lola.

She is a purebreed toy Poodle. We bought her 4 1/2 years ago when she was only 12 weeks old.
The breeder was very particular about who she sold her dogs to and my wife began to cry as soon as she saw Lola,it was love at first site.

Lola has grown into a beautiful pet for me and my wife. We know that Poodles were originally bred to hunt ,so we started to teach her to fetch when she was very young. She has small tennis ball type toys that we call her guys. When we say get your guy,she brings one and the throwing and fetching begins. She will fetch for hours if we let her.

She is a wonderful watch dog. we know instantly when someone is on the property as she barks and lets us know.

I taught her to close drawers . If ever there is a kitchen drawer open she jumps up on it and
pushes the drawer closed with her front feet.
She is wonderful with children and she is very nice to other dogs that come over to visit.

As you can see Lola is not as old as some dogs on this site but,I know she will get old and I dont know what I am going to do without her.

We used to have her sleep in her crate at night but, I realized that as she aged we were missing a third of her life while she slept in the crate. I spoke to my wife and decided that we would let her sleep in the bed with us so we could get as much time with her as possible. She is a very good sleeper, sleeps under the covers and never moves.

The picture of her in the car seat was when she was about 3 1/2 years old,the picture of her by the door is when she was 4 years old.

Thank you for reading my story about Lola.

My Dog Lola
by: Merl

Lola has now turned seven and is just a great girl.

She is very healthy and loves to chase her guy toy. Her uncle Vito comes over on Fridays and drives her crazy chasing it.

She recently broke one of her teeth on a very hard chewy given to her by her aunty Wendy, bad auntie Wendy.

We were not happy as Lola had to be put out and the tooth pulled . The bill was $1700.00 and I was not happy but,Lola is fine now and doesnt get any more hard chewys.

The Lovely Lola

Hi Merl,

Wow - Lola seems like a little treasure....and such a cutie too! You could just kiss her nose right off!

Like Lola, Jake sleeps with us too - I can't imagine bedtime without him!

I can see that Lola brings so much joy to the hearts of you and your wife and I am sure she will continue to do so for many, many more years.

Kind regards

Jo
